Ocean views home Ocean Shores

Ocean views from every room was the brief for this Ocean Shores home. A one hundred and eighty degree ocean view was the obvious feature of this vacant block. The owner wanted to be able to check the surf out from every room.

He wanted his dream house perched on the crest of a hill so he could see the ocean and never miss a surf.

Ocean Shores House Design

The brief was to design an affordable three bedroom home to take in the beautiful north east outlook over the Ocean Shores golf course. The block had a very steep slope to the north so rising up over the house next door wasn’t a problem. The issue was doing it in a way so that from the street it looked like it was well grounded yet allowed the entire subfloor to be used as car parking, boat storage and laundry. This was also available to be built in as a extra living space or bedroom at a later date as the kids grew up and needed their own space.

The design had to be totally functional with no wasted space as the clients had to stick rigidly to budget. Sticking to the budget is something Barefoot Building Design is very good at. The owners added their own contemporary flair to create a luxury north coast home which fit their budget.

The north facing covered verandahs are perfect for entertaining and the owners spend most of their free time soaking up the sun all year round. With thoughtful use of louvre and feature windows the home is well set up for optimum natural ventilation and privacy.
Of course, all the bedrooms have plenty of robe space and there is an ensuite in the master bedroom.

This compact home has so many pleasant aspects with plenty of natural light and ventilation. Barefoot Building Design have created a home for all seasons that the owners absolutely love.
